Gentle Giants is a 501(c)3 non-profit equine welfare organization. Founded in 2005 as a labor of love by our Executive Director, Christine Hajek, we are now the largest draft horse rescue in America.

With highly trained Animal Care Technicians, we are equipped to tackle the many needs of our equine friends. From canker and CPL treatments to the unique housing we provide for our six blind horses, we do everything we can to provide the absolute best care possible to these gentle souls.

Meet viral sensation, Phantom! Phantom is an 8 year old Shire, who’s towering height gained the attention of millions across the world! At 20.1 hands (that’s 6.75 feet tall at his withers!), Phantom has been featured across numerous international media outlets. His celebrity status has helped introduce new audiences to the many wonderful draft breeds and put a spotlight on the dangers many of them face.
